Domestic Violence Arrest involving Guns

On May 18, 2017, the Hudson City Police Department arrested 72 year old, Gerald W. Wyant of Hudson, New York on Criminal Possession Weapon 3rd – Previous Conviction, a class D Felony, Menacing 2nd – Weapon, a class A misdemeanor, and Criminal Obstruction Breathing, a class A misdemeanor.

On May 18, 2017, at approximately 3:05 pm, the City of Hudson Police Department received a call from the victim stating that her husband was threatening to kill her and pointed a rifle at her. Hudson Police were immediately dispatched to the Hudson Terrace Apartments for the active domestic violence incident involving weapons. A patrol in the area was on scene in less than one minute.

Gerald Wyant was arrested at the scene without incident and the guns were recovered by Police. The victim also alleged Wyant choked her. The victim complained of pain, had red marks on her neck, and was seeking her own medical attention. Gerald Wyant has a previous felony conviction for DWI.

Gerald Wyant was arraigned before Judge Herman and he was remanded to the Columbia County Jail on $1000 cash/bond returnable to the Hudson City Court on May 26, 2017 at 830am. A temporary Order of Protection was issued for Wyant to stay away from the victim.
