A police pursuit across the mountaintop in Greene County Friday afternoon, ended with the driver crashing in Hunter. The chase went from Route 23 in Ashland, to Route 23A in Hunter, where the driver crashed.
A lot is still not known. We do know that several roadblocks were set up, which the driver went through. It's believed that the driver was a female in a Volkswagen.
Police said, at times, speeds were reached over 80 miles an hour. Hunter fire and ambulance, along with Tannersville rescue, responded to the scene on Main Street. Police reported that they had one in custody. We'll have more details as they become available.
