A Valatie man was sentenced today in Columbia County Court. Judge Nichols gave 36 year old Joseph Banfield one year in prison for selling heroin in the village. Banfield was convicted of one count of Criminal Sale of a controlled substance in January. He was arrested with two others in February 2016 by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office. of his two co-defendants, Bonnie Kilmer was already sentenced, and Dennis Mazal passed away before he could be sentenced.
