PRESS RELEASE The State Police at Catskill and the Hunter Police Dept. are investigating the death of Edwin Wood, age 58 of Warwick, NY at Hunter Mountain Ski Center. Wood, who was an expert skier, was skiing on the Annapurna trail, a double black diamond (expert) trail on Hunter's West side. Wood lost control and slid approximately 200 feet before leaving the trail and striking several trees. Wood was extricated by the ski patrol and then treated by Greene County Paramedics and Hunter area ambulance personel before being pronounced deceased. State Police are currently treating the matter as an accidental fall and do not suspect any foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for a later date.
