New phone scam targets Key Bank customers

Catskill Police are warning residents of a new scam, targeting Key Bank customers.

They say, it starts with an e-mail or text message claiming to be from Key Bank Security. The person is instructed to call a phone number, where the victim is told their account is overdrawn and are told to provide their banking information and Social Security number. There have also been reports of this happening with direct phone calls.

Catskill police say, DO NOT ever give out personal information, unless you are positive who you are talking to. If you do get a call or message like this, contact your local Police.
