Two Men Arrested for Possessing Forged Credit Cards and Marijuana

PRESS RELEASE Chatham, NY – On January 20, 2017, at approximately 9:58 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 for a speeding violation. The passengers, Kareem Padgett, 22, of Schenectady, NY, and Maliek J. Brown-Barrow, 20, of Brooklyn, NY, were found to be in possession of forged credit cards and marijuana. Brown-Barrow was placed in custody. Padgett actively resisting, prior to being taken into custody. Both men were transported and processed at SP Albany.
Padgett was subsequently charged with:
- Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd degree; a Class D Felony
- Resisting Arrest; a Class A Misdemeanor
- False Personation; a B Misdemeanor
He was arraigned before the Town of Chatham Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
Brown-Barrow was subsequently charged with:
- Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd degree; a Class D Felony
- Unlawful Possession of Marijuana; a Violation
He was arraigned before the Town of Chatham Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. Both men are schedule to reappear on January 25, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
